Concrete casting for 3D geometries : Glass fibre reinforced concrete structure for arch | Research
@ 2013-2014 GAD, Bartlett school of architecture, UCL
This is a small module for one metre of concrete arch structure. In order to fabricate the module of complex geometry, 3D printed mould which is build in plaster powder was designed. Cement is mixed with glass fibre for being a reinforced concrete unit. The metal wire inserted to become more stable as a structure. This can be considered as a light-weight and high strength arch, comparing to the arch made with concrete brick.
